An Andrássy Avenue Terrace at Csók Bistro: Long Weekends and Sunny Weekdays

Late April, the trees are turning green along Andrássy Avenue, and the morning sun is calling for coffee and a slow eggs benedict. This is the few weeks when the loveliest thing to do in Budapest is to sit out on an Andrássy Avenue terrace — and Csók Bistro's terrace is ready for you at Andrássy út 112.
Here's why it's worth dropping by now: how to make the most of the May 1st long weekend and Pentecost, why a quick brunch on a warm weekday afternoon works just as well, and how to book a table in two clicks.
Why an Andrássy Avenue terrace?
Andrássy Avenue is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for a reason. The plane trees, the classicist palaces, and the unhurried walking pace toward Heroes' Square give the terrace experience a frame you'll struggle to find anywhere else in Budapest.
Csók Bistro's terrace sits on one of the quieter, leafier stretches of the avenue — at number 112, where the boulevard heads out toward Heroes' Square and City Park. Which means:
Less foot traffic, more greenery in the background
Sun on the terrace all day — large canvas parasols provide the shade above the tables
A few minutes' walk from Heroes' Square, the Műcsarnok, and City Park
A direct view of the avenue — the classic „Budapest terrace” feel
Long weekends in spring 2026: when to book ahead
The calendar genuinely favours sitting outside right now. Two stretches worth blocking on your map:

May 1st long weekend (Friday–Sunday)
Labour Day falls on a Friday in 2026, giving you an automatic three-day long weekend. This is typically when:
Locals stay in town because Lake Balaton is still cold and not worth the drive
Tourists pack the Castle District and the area around the Basilica
Andrássy Avenue, by contrast, breathes more easily than the inner-city bustle across the river
Which makes our Andrássy terrace a stress-free alternative on May 1st: no fighting through crowds for a lunch table.
Pentecost (May 24–25)
The Pentecost long weekend runs Saturday–Sunday. Many families plan a multi-generational outing — grandparents, kids, brunch or lunch all together.
Our terrace is family-friendly: wide tables, high chairs, and the avenue is never so loud that you can't have a normal conversation.
What you'll eat — Csók's offering in short
Csók Bistro serves the full menu all day, which means you can come in for breakfast on a regular weekday, not just at the weekend. That's a meaningful difference from many central Budapest spots, where brunch is strictly Saturday–Sunday only.
How to book a table on the terrace
Simple: two minutes online, done.
Open csokbudapest.hu/asztalfoglalas
Pick a date, time, and number of guests
Mention you'd like to sit on the terrace — in the comments field
You'll get a confirmation, and we'll hold the table
A few practical tips that save a lot of confusion:
We're closed on Mondays — Tuesday through Sunday we're open
On long weekends (May 1st, Pentecost) book at least 48 hours ahead — even a terrace this size runs out of sunny tables fast
On weekdays there's usually space the same morning — but for groups of more than six, give us a heads-up
If it rains we move you indoors — your booking stays valid
With kids? Drop the age in the comments and we'll have a high chair ready
Andrássy út 112 — how to find us

The exact address: Budapest, District VI, Andrássy út 112. About a 2-minute walk from the Bajza utca metro station (M1, the yellow line), and 6–7 minutes from Heroes' Square.
The building itself is a classic Andrássy Avenue palace, also home to the HAB gallery — so if you're looking for HAB, you're already in the right place. The terrace is right on the avenue side, easy to spot from the street.
Parking: paid zones throughout the area. If you're driving, look for a covered car park around Bajza or Munkácsy Mihály utca and walk over.
Who is this terrace really for?
Four kinds of guests find our Andrássy terrace especially useful:
The downtown professional, who drops in after work for an early dinner, a coffee, or a slice of cake
The family, who comes in on a Sunday morning for brunch and doesn't want to queue in the City Park
The tourist, walking the Heroes' Square–Andrássy–Basilica axis and wanting to eat or sip a coffee right on that line
The couple, planning a quiet, terrace-side date on a warm weekday afternoon
Book now — sunny days are here
As the warm weather settles in, this is the stretch when everyone wants to sit outside at once. If you're planning around the upcoming long weekends — May 1st, Pentecost, or a spontaneous Thursday afternoon — book your table now while the sunny, parasol-shaded spots are still free.
